Our lives are a reflection of our daily rituals and habits. Rituals are acts of self-care and self-love that we choose to do consistently with intention, awareness and purpose. When we take consistent care of ourselves, we have so much more to give and share with those we love and those around us.
We cannot share or give what we don’t have. So, if we are not taking care of ourselves and loving ourselves then it is easy to become stressed, exhausted, overwhelmed and in poor health. We can barely feel like we are surviving, let alone thriving. And this was most certainly true in my case.
There are also things that many of us choose to do daily that have a negative impact on our lives, health, relationships and are certainly not in alignment with the life that we are wanting to create. When we become aware of these behaviours and make a conscious decision to let them go! We create space for positive thoughts, believes and actions that raise our energetic and emotional vibration to awaken our inner Goddess.
When we feel good, we positively affect everyone and everything around us. We also attract more in our lives to feel good about.
When deciding what new empowering daily rituals we are going to commit to, it’s important that we don’t get overwhelmed by trying to doing everything at once. Consciously decide which rituals resonate the most and start by implementing two or three to start with until they are firmly rooted into your routine. Then we can look to plant and try different things and see how it makes us feel.
Don’t feel as if you need to do exactly the same thing every day, for example one of my daily rituals is to move my body for 30 minutes every morning. This might be a 30-minute workout on one day or a 30-minute home yoga practice on another. On a Sunday morning it might be a 30 minute (or longer) walk in nature. I found when I tried to commit to 30 minutes of exercise, walking in nature, yoga, dancing, Journalling and so on, as much as I love all these things…it was just impossible to sustain them ALL on a daily basis.
That said, there are certain things that I definitely do commit to daily. I eat a healthy vegan diet, drink plenty of water, I listen to my morning and evening meditation. These are things that I know longer have to think about…. they are like brushing my teeth, they are part of who I am and how I choose to live. I also have a regular yoga practice, I journal, I repeat daily affirmations and mantras and have found ways to integrate these into my daily life with ease.
But when I first made the conscious decision to take care of myself and practice self-love, I experienced a lot of resistance. I felt guilty, my mind would constantly wonder and think about all the other things that I should be doing. But I knew deep down inside of me that by valuing and prioritising myself and my life that this is where the real transformation happens.
