Indulgent Oat Milk Hot Chocolate Recipe

(Makes 2 cups)

This smooth and creamy oat milk hot chocolate is absolutely delicious. Enriched with chocolatey cocoa powder which is full of mood boosting properties and the maple syrup is packed with antioxidants.  Indulge yourself this winter

How to make:

Mix the cocoa powder and maple syrup with a little bit of boiling water to create a paste. Mix until its nice and smooth.

Add the paste to a small saucepan with the oat milk and allow to gently simmer until it's heated through.

Whilst the hot chocolate is simmering, make your coconut whipped cream topping.

Scoop the coconut fat from the tin (the solid part of that has separated from the liquid). Place the coconut in a bowl with the maple syrup and vanilla and whisk with a hand whisk until it's smooth and creamy.

Pour your hot chocolate into your favourite mug and add a couple of tablespoons of whipped cream. You can also add vegan marshmallows or any other goodies that you would like. Relax and enjoy.

Ingredients for Hot Chocolate

  • 2 Cups of oat milk (Oatly barista I found is the best)
  • 1 tbsp of maple syrup
  • 6 tsp of cocoa powder

Ingredients for the coconut whipped cream

  • 1 x tin of full fat coconut milk
  • ½ tsp of vanilla bean paste or vanilla essence
  • 1 x tbsp of Maple Syrup
